Terms of Use and Data Protection

In order to use this internet application, you must first accept the following Terms of Use.

Please read the Terms of Use and the notes on data protection carefully and subsequently declare your consent to the validity of the Terms of Use via mouse click.

Once you have accepted the Terms of Use, your User ID and a flag (marking), indicating that the Terms of Use have been accepted, are permanently saved in the backend database. This data identifies you in the future as an authorised user of DELS Translation. The Terms of Use only have to be accepted again if they have changed. In this case, the data in the backend database is deleted.

The use of DELS Translation is only permissible in accordance with and within the framework of the following provisions.

1. Rights of use
1.1 Only employees of Volkswagen AG, Volkswagen AG Group companies, authorised partner companies or other business partners authorised by the responsible administrators may hold the rights of use (hereinafter referred to as “User”). In order to use DELS Translation, the User must be registered on the Group Business Platform. Volkswagen Group Supply can be reached via this link http://www.vwgroupsupply.com/portal01/vw/pub.

1.2 Volkswagen AG is authorised to revoke a User’s rights of use at any time. This applies in particular if the User violates these Terms of Use. If a User’s rights of use are revoked, they may no longer use DELS Translation.

1.3 These Terms of Use govern the use of DELS Translation for business purposes; DELS Translation is not intended for private use.

2. Protection of personal data and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
2.1 Please do not enter any personal data into the free form text fields!

2.2 If we receive content to be translated from you, the client, in which personal data has neither been deleted nor redacted, we assume that you have an underlying legal basis in data protection for passing on this data.

3. Scope and limitations of permissible use
3.1 The application is made available exclusively for use for business purposes for information/texts classified as “confidential” at most. The application is not approved for secret information.

Violations of the use restrictions set out in paragraph 3.1 or violations of the other internal provisions for the use of digital media and communication systems constitute a violation of duties defined in the User’s employment contract, authorising Volkswagen AG or the respective employer of the User to prosecute these violations either under criminal law and/or labour law.

4. Any other business
4.1 Volkswagen AG is authorised to change these Terms of Use at any time and shall inform users in good time of any new versions of the Terms of Use.

4.2 Should one or several provisions of these Terms of Use be or become wholly or partially invalid, the validity of the Terms of Use shall not be affected. In such cases, the invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that comes as close as possible to the commercial purpose of the invalid provision. The same applies to gaps in the agreement.
